The 2024 Rosato Tramonto, 100% Sangiovese, has a ton of character. Even with the slightly lighter style of the vintage, the Rosato still carries plenty of Panzano intensity. Cranberry, white pepper and orange peel lend notable brightness throughout. It's a versatile Rosé for the dinner table.

The 2023 Rosato Tramonte, 100% Sangiovese, is rich and expansive on the palate. Blood orange, grapefruit, rose petals, mint and spice abound. Readers will find more of a light red wine than a typical Rosé in this distinctive offering from Ca' di Pesa. - Antonio Galloni

The 2021 Chianti Classico is superb. A burst of dark red cherry, plum, sweet spice and leather races across the palate. This racy, sumptuous Chianti Classico hits all the right notes. I especially admire the interplay of Panzano textural richness and vibrancy. This was vinified in steel and aged in neutral barrique and a single 10HL cask.

2020 Chianti Classico Riserva
91
The 2020 Chianti Classico Riserva is a dense, powerful wine. Black cherry, plum, mocha, lavender and spice are all beautifully amplified. The Riserva spent 25 days on the skins in amphora and was raised in 5hl casks for 24 months. Time in wood is on the longer side, a choice made to amplify texture and volume.

The 2020 Tramonto is a gorgeous wine from L'Orcio A Ca' di Pesa in Panzano's famed Conca d'Oro. Rich and textured in feel, Tramonto is an excellent choice for readers looking for a Rosé with body and plenty of Sangiovese character. Rich pliant and textured, with exceptional balance, the 2020 is a winner.

Ca' di Pesa's 2019 La Lucertola is a blend of equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon that spent four years in barrel. Sumptuous and layered, with notable opulence, the 2019 is superb. It’s a wine where the house style dominates over varietal and site character, but it is also hard to fault a wine that is so distinctive and pleasurable.

2019 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione
93
A new offering in the range, the 2019 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione is one of the best wines I have tasted from Ca' di Pesa. Super-ripe red cherry, plum, licorice and spice are dialed up in this decidedly extroverted Gran Selezione. Ripeness is very much pushed to the edge, but it all works so well. There is nothing heavy or overdone here. The 2019 spent 30 months in barrel (40% new) followed by 5 months in cement.

The 2019 Chianti Classico is fabulous. Ample and so expressive, the 2019 captures all of the natural radiance and richness of Panzano's Conca d'Oro. Succulent dark cherry, plum, chocolate, licorice and spice flesh out in a layered, super-expressive wine that hits all the right notes.

The 2019 Rosè Tramonto is bright, airy and lifted, with lovely precision and tons of class. Crushed raspberry, flowers, mint and subtle Sangiovese earthy notes are front and center. This is an especially airy, ethereal style.

The 2018 La Lucertola is a tiny two-barrel blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon that spent four years in 500-liter tonneaux. Long aging yielded a wine with gorgeous aromatic nuance to play off a core of dark-toned fruit. This textured, expressive red is a delight. Hints of leather, mocha and dried spice linger.

The 2018 Chianti Classico is dark, layered and beautifully resonant in the glass. Cedar, spice and leather add striking aromatic depth to a core of Sangiovese fruit. A wine of notable texture and richness, the 2018 wraps around the palate with all of he warmth that is so typical of Panzano's Conca d'Oro district. Rose petal, mint and blood orange add the closing shades of nuance. As always, this one of the most distinctive wines in this lineup.

The 2017 Chianti Classico is a gorgeous, sweeping wine that shows all of the grandeur and radiance of Panzano's Conca d'Oro. Ripe red cherry, red plum, cedar, tobacco, licorice and spice build as this sumptuous, wonderfully complex Chianti Classico shows off its breadth and sheer character. It's one of the wines of the vintage.

2017 Chianti Classico Riserva
91
The 2017 Chianti Classico Riserva, 100% Sangiovese, is packed with dark fruit, new leather, licorice and chocolate. There is no shortage of intensity, that is for sure, but the oak and overall concentration feel a bit pushed.

2016 Chianti Classico Riserva
95
The 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva is effusive in the glass, with stunning depth and exceptional pedigree. Dark cherry, plum, leather, lavender, mocha, spice and new leather infuse the 2016 with striking depth. I would prefer to cellar the 2016 for a few years, although it is incredibly impressive today. Wow!

The 2016 Chianti Classico is powerful and intense, especially within the context of a year that producer lighter, more aromatic wines. Then again, we are in Panzano, where the wines have a natural breadth to them. The 2016 at Ca' di Pesa is very pretty, but it also needs time to develop aromatic complexity. Even so, the purity of the fruit here is striking. Vivid and nuanced, the 2016 is a gorgeous and distinctive wine from Ca' di Pesa. Don't miss it.

The 2015 La Lucertola is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot. Inky and dense in the glass, with tremendous concentration, the 2015 is incredibly distinctive. Generous dark fruit, chocolate, sweet spice, leather, lavender and licorice build in a sumptuous exotically ripe wine.

The 2015 Chianti Classico Ca' di Pesa is a wine of real pedigree and class. Wonderfully deep and generous, it also retains striking translucence. Sweet red cherry, spice, mint, leather, tobacco and pomegranate overtones give the wine much of its sensual, inviting personality. As good as the 2015 is, it would be even better with less oak influence. The purity of the fruit here is striking.

2015 Chianti Classico Riserva
91
The 2015 Chianti Classico Riserva is rich and ample on the palate, with layers that build beautifully through the mid-palate and into the finish. Dark cherry, plum, mocha, licorice, dried flowers, sage and menthol are all lavishly rendered in a Riserva that captures the essence of the year as well as the personality of Panzano's Conca d'Oro. The only thing the 2015 could use is a touch more freshness. Then again, it is 2015.
